Neon Halloween

This card came about purely from playing around and I think because I didn't over think it, it all seemed to come together by itself. I like the outcome as it all just seemed to flow. Because I realised on a previous card that I had printed four digital stamps on to the wrong card stock it was a little tricky to use my normal go to colouring medium my Copics, so I figured I would be a little experimental.

Then it just came to me....Neon Sharpies :)

so I coloured my image with these and really loved the bright fun outcome that was the end result but then I hit a snag...no coloured paper, card or embellishments that would match my colour scheme. I figured I could go with your basic black card but I really wanted patterned papers on it also, I went looking through my stash and at my digital papers and then I thought I wonder what would happen if I printed a paper with a black background with a white image and then coloured it in, this is how my to patterned papers came to be. I really love the neon pink cobwebs.

But then I wanted to add a bit more colour to the layout so I cut a piece of white card stock to mat the cobweb paper on and before adhering the patterned paper I went around the edge that would show with my neon orange sharpie and it makes everything pop but you wouldn't know I coloured it in and the card stock wasn't that colour.

I then took a piece of white ribbon and coloured this with my yellow neon sharpie just to give it a bit more colour and used some super cute spider embellishments from my stash. Sadly the picture didn't pick up just how bright this card is but I love it because it is just a little bit different!

I Loooovvvveeee Halloween!

Its no secret i looovvvveee Hannah Lynn Images and this was one i haven't played with for some time, i love digital papers and stamps because you can set them to the size you need them. Although Etsy can be like a candy shop to crafters :)

I really enjoyed making this card and it turned out like i visioned which i was happy about, although i did make a rookie error as i put the wrong card stock in my printer when i printed my image so although i coloured it with my Copics there is no blending. But i am still happy with it.

For this Card i used:

Cardstock - Bazzil  - Raven
Digital Stamp - Kara by Hannah Lynn (Etsy)
Digital Papers - harlowlanedesigns - Etsy
Spooky Sentiment - KreationsbyKrise - Etsy
Green Flowers, Black & White Twice, Spider Charm, Spider - From Stash
Black Flowers - White KaiserCraft coloured with a black Sharpie
Dies - Couture Creations
Mini Rhinestones - The Stencil Specialists
Adhesives - Double Sided Tape, Dimensionals, Glossy Accents

I would like to submit my card for the following challenges:

A Gem of a Challenge - Halloween/Halloween Colours

Oh how i love Hannah Lynn Images - Love Yellow it is so cheerful and summary

Hi All,

Back with my second post of the day. All of you will know that my love of Hannah Lynn images borders on obsessional but i just love them. They are fun and funky and a dream to colour, i like that you can colour them in a variety of different ways depending on the look you are going for. I also love the colour scheme of Yellow, Grey and Black that i have used on this card and i am really pleased with the way she turned out. Which for me is a big thing because i often find i am my own worst critic when it comes to my card making.

Patterned Paper: Shiny Bright by Kaisercraft (i think its quite new so grab it whilst you can, there are soooooo many gorgeous papers in the range)
Image: Hannah Lynn

Halloween Hannah Lynn - Can't decide if i am early for next Halloween or terribly late for the last one

Hi Everyone,

Well after three cards using the same patterned papers i felt it was time i changed it up. I went with a Halloween Theme this time, i actually can't remember the last time i made a Halloween card so it seemed the obvious choice.

Anyone that has been following me for a wee while will know that i utterly adore Hannah Lynn images, they are funky and a joy to colour. This is a new Hannah Lynn i had purchased and i thought i would go with the traditional Purple, Orange and Green colour scheme for my card.

For this card i used:

Image - Hannah Lynn (Purchased at Crafts & Me)
Papers & card stock - All from my stash
Flowers - Kaiser Craft
Gems, Charm and Twine from Stash
Copics - 100, G28, YR09, B14, BV08, W7, C2, E50

I would very much like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Thanks for taking the time to stop and look, it is always nice reading your comments and feedback.

Hannah Lynn - Monica

Hi Everyone.

Well i know, its a shocking surprised but another Hannah Lynn image. I haven't used Monica for some time but thought she would fit nicely with the layout i was going for.

I was trying a few different things with this one, i wanted to colour her hair using a different colour to my favourite brown copic combo on E13, E15, E17 and wanted to stick to the Purple and Blue colour scheme completely. On my bottom layer i only embossed two corners and i actually really live the effect it has, it really lifts that bottom layer and really draws your eye to the image.

For this card i used:

Hannah Lynn Monica Image
Cardstock and coloured paper from stash
Ribbon (coloured with my trusty copics) from Stash
Purple & Blue Gems by Kaiser Craft
Metallic Purple, Clear Star & Blue Star Gelly Rolls
Copics - BV11, B16, B45, E50
Embossing folders by Couture Creations and Cuttlebug

I would like to enter her in the following challenges:

Happy crafting and thanks for visting

Hannah Lynn Dahlia Image

Hi everyone,

I brought this designer paper pad quite some time ago, its by Papermania i think. I must confess that i brought it on a whim as it reminded me of a dinner set my Nan used to have for special occasions, that white china with the beautiful blue images. I am still not 100% sure why i brought it as the dark blue is not a colour i usually use in my cards, hence why it hasn't been used before but the patterns are gorgeous and i am glad i finally got around to using it :)

This is one of my favourite Hannah Lynn images, Dahlia is such fun to colour.

For this card i used:

White Bazzill card stock
Patterned Papers by Papermania
Hannah Lynn Dahlia image
Clear & Blue gems by Kaisercraft
White ribbon from stash
Blue Pearlesent paper from stash
Marine Star & Red Star Gelly Rolls
Copics - G05, C1, B21, B39, E13, E15, E17, E50

I would very much like to enter her in the following challenges:

Beautiful Butterflies

Hi Everyone,

This is my first challenge card for a wee while and I used the sketch at Crafts and Me. It is a bit busier than I would normally make my cards but I enjoyed the challenge and I really do like the end result :)

I have had this pink and orange Kaiser craft designer paper for some time and I hadn't really come up with anyway to use it, I dont know about anyone else but I am terrible for buying gorgeous scrapbooking paper and then not have the heart to cut it, which can make things a bit tricky for a card maker ha ha. But it seemed perfect for this image along with the beautiful Hannah Lynn image.

I needed flowers for the sketch and I had none the right colour, same with the ribbon. So I got white flowers and ribbon and coloured them with my copics, I love this because I sometimes struggle to match colours correctly and this takes all the hassle out of things. I decided the flowers needed something more so I put glossy accents on them and then put some very fine glitter on them. I shook off the excessive once the glossy accents was dry and I really like the finish, it just gives the whole card a little more sparkle. The butterfly I actually cut out of the spare butterfly designer paper and then I shaped it on my flower shapping mat with my embossing tool to give it a bit more shape and I loved how this turned out.

For this card is used:

Designer Paper and pink card stock, flowers by Kaiser Craft
Hannah Lynn Digital Stamp
White Ribbon from my stash
Pearl Hearts from my stash
Spellbinders corner dies
Clear Gelly roll pen
Copics - R81, YR16, B24, E13, E15, E17, E50 and red Spica pen.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Thanks for taking the time and please feel free to leave any comments or suggestions, its always great to hear from you.

WOW has it really been than long

Hi Everyone,

I apologise for the long delay since my last post...how time flies when your not paying attention. I have moved house since my last post and this one had a room specifically for a craft room, well that was the plan at any rate. Queensland being Queensland and the fact i only have air conditioning down stairs now means i no longer have a dining area and a rather spread out craft area LOL.

I struggled with making cards for a while and the more i tried to force it the worse it became, i guess i had the card makers equivalent of writers block so i left things for a while and recently came back to it and finding the hobby fun once again which is great.

For this card i wanted something bright and fun. I got the colour scheme from a friend at Docrafts, not colours i would think to put together but i really love the effect and may be a little more experimental in the future. Hannah Lynn images are amazing, although they take time to colour they really lend themselves to any colour scheme and it seemed perfect for this card.

I coloured my image first which took some time and then i mounted this on yellow and then link card. I then cut a yellow square and mounted this on pink card, i made my black card base and then cute a pink square. I must confess that i spent a wee while moving my pieces around the get the affect i wanted and i really wanted both the pink and yellow to show and this is how my current layout was born, it wasn't the initial plan but i often find my plan changes half a dozen times when making a card. I finished her off with a few black gems because with the bright colour scheme i didn't want the card to be too "busy" or detract from the gorgeous image.

For this card i used:

Black, pink and yellow card stock all from my stash
White Copic Card
Hannah Lynn Digital Stamp
Black gems
Gelly roll pens
Copics - E13, E15, E17, E93, Y08, E50, RV06
Copic Spica Pens - Clear & Red

As always please let me know what you think or any suggestions you might have?

Hannah Lynn Centre Stepper Card

Hi All,

For my next experimentation i decided to give a centre step card a go. I viewed some templates online and then gave it a go generating my own, as you can imagine there were some failures LOL before i got to the dimensions i wanted.

Because i really love this image i wanted to keep the rest of the card fairly simple so she is the main focus and isn't she gorgeous. I may add a sentiment later, i am not sure at this stage but that's the joy of this image i think you could use it for any number.

For this card i used...
Janessa, Digital image by Hannah Lynn
Copics G05, R46, 0, E000, E00, B16, Y18, C1, C5, C7, C9
Gelly Rolls Silver star and Clear Star
Gems and card stock all from stash.

Pink & Brown Tri-Fold Card

Hi everyone,

I am going through a phase of trying out different folds and shapes of cards at the moment and really enjoying it. I recently purchased a Martha Stewart scoreboard so this may have prompted my experimenting :)

This time i have tried out a Tri-fold card and i really like the way it turned out. I made mine slightly smaller than most out there (each panel is 12cm x 12cm) mainly because i do not have a paper cutter than can handle A3 cardstock so that is my next purchase on the agenda. I do a lot of my cutting with a metal ruler and craft knife but i am not the best at straight lines :)

I went with a pink and brown theme as i wanted to use up some of the items i already had in my stash, and the Hannah Lynn image was one i printed and cut out a while back but never got around to using.

For this card i used...
Hannah Lynn digital Image
Butterfly and Sentiment stamps by Flourishes
Sentiment on middle panel i generated using the computer and printed out
Pink, Clear and Mini clear gems from Stash
Ribbon from stash
Martha Stewart Border and Corner punches
Digital papers all by Pink Petticoat
White and Black card stock from stash
Copics E000, E00, E33, E35, E37, R81, G05

Thanks for joining me, i am off to do some more experimenting

Cards i made to stave off the boredom

I am not entering the following cards in any challenges but these are the cards i made because the power was out and i was quite literally starting to climb the walls, i was ok for the first few hours but after that i needed something to keep me occupied.

Please let me know what you think, i really enjoy getting your comments and am happy with any suggestions or advice you have to offer.

Help Needed!

Hi everyone,

well i really think i need to stay away from the Crafts and Me website...i will just have a look i thought...three new digital stamps later ha ha. The one i have used on my card below is Butterflies of Hope by Hannah Lynn and i just adore her. I really couldn't wait to print her out and colour.

I need your advice though...i seem to be getting worse at my hair colouring and not better...it maybe that i am over blending or not flicking enough but i really don't know and if any of you wonderful people have any advice i would really love to hear it. I think maybe i am over thinking the whole thing or maybe laying down too much ink to start i just don't know....

I wanted to keep this one mainly pretty simple but with a real "pop" of colour and i really like the end result.

I used...
Hannah Lynn Digital Image
Papers & Card Stock from my rapidly depleting stash
Flowers and Gems were from my Stash
Gelly Roll Clear Star
Copics YG09, B05, RV06, Y08, E50, C9, C7, C5, V17, R46

Another Beat The Blues Entry for Cute Card Thursday Challenge

Well i seem to be all or nothing when it comes to ideas for my card making, i can go weeks where i get utterly frustrated because i cannot even get an idea of where to start and other times the ideas just keep coming and i can barely keep up with them. I originally coloured two images for my previous card because i was not entirely sure which one i wanted to use so ended up with two coloured images. I chose the LOTV image for the previous card and this Hannah Lynn image was far to gorgeous to remain stored in my stash so off i went and created another card.

The card base is one i had in my stash and measures 15cm x 15cm. I cut silver pearlescent paper to 14cm x 14cm and mounted onto the card blank using double sided sticky tape. The 4 patterned paper strips are all 3cm x 11cm (they were actually what i had left over after making the previous card) and mounted them on card the same as the card blank. I then trimmed a fairly obvious border around each but did not measure this. I then aligned them how i wanted them to sit, i find this helps me to do because i have a tendency to change my layout so many times before my final card. I then adhered them using double sided tape. I then added the black ribbon. Once i had coloured the image i had already mounted on silver pearlescent paper and mounted again on black card stock, all using double sided tape. I adhered the image to the card from using foam tape so it is a little raised from the background. I made the bow and adhered this to the card using Glossy Accents and finally added the blue gems. I have a tendency to be extremely critical of my own efforts but must confess i am pretty happy with the way this turned out.

I used...
Hannah Lynn Digital Image
Black Pearlescent card blank originally purchased from Kmart
Patterned papers are all by Doodlebug Designs
Black Ribbon was from my stash
Blue Gems from Kaiser Craft
Copics B23, R81, E50, C7, C9, G05
Sakura Gelly Roll Clear Star
Glossy Accents and Double sided tape from my stash

Thank you for visiting and i truly appreciate your time and comments

Love - Flourishes Blog Challenge Entry

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a good Monday, back to work after two weeks was definitely a shock to the system but in some ways it is nice to be back but it cuts in to my crafting time...

My card below is for the Flourishes Blog Challenge and their theme is Love Letters and because i don't normally make Valentines cards i thought this would be a nice challenge.

The digital image is by Hannah Lynn from crafts and me
The Patterned paper and card have been in my stash for some time and sadly i cannot remember where i got them or who they are by.
The image was coloured using my trusty Copics and Gelly Rolls, i put some Glossy accents on the small hearts, her lips and the butterfly. Sadly you cannot really see from the photo but it gives the image some dimension and i really like the effect. This is only the second image i have coloured the hair black but i am loving it and it just makes the image so much more striking. I coloured the image back ground with C0 as i find it helps to make it pop. I added several gems.

Copics used C9, E50, C7, RV32, C0, V05, B21

Last post of the day - another challenge entry for Crafts and Me

Well as you can probably gather i purchased some more Hannah Lynn digital images from Crafts and me over the break and i have been having a lot of fun with them. I seem to always colour the hair on my images Brown and using the same Copic combination so i thought i would try and get out of my comfort zone a little with this one. I figured because of the colour combination i had chosen black hair would look really good. Well i must confess this is my first ever attempt at colouring Black hair and although it isn't perfect i am actually pretty amazed at how well it turned out.

I coloured her using my trusty Copics and added a few gems. You will be surprised to note i am sure that i did not use any Gelly Rolls on this image which is also a first.

Thank you for viewing my work, your time and comments are appreciated.

Another Crafts and me blog challenge entry

Hi all,

I know no post for a while and then several in one day.

Another Hannah Lynn digital image :) i just looooovvvveee them. I love the fact that you can colour them so many different ways and to fit your project. This is a winter card and the sentiment is still to be added, you know what i am like for not putting on sentiments until i use them. I tried a more non traditional colour scheme of pink and grey and i am really really please with the way it turned out, it is quite delicate and i am really happy with the final card.

I coloured her using copics with some gelly rolls to add a little sparkle. You cannot tell from the photo but i put Glossy Accents on the butterfly and her lips to give it added dimension.

The papers are from my far to large stash.

Thanks for taking the time

Happy New Year All

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the long time between posts, i have been making my cards but never seemed to get around to posting them.

As you will see below my obsession with Hannah Lynn's gorgeous digital images has carried into 2013, i just love them. They are an absolute delight to colour and are also exceptionally good practise when it comes to colouring in with Copics.

I am entering the following image in the Crafts and Me blog challenge and would welcome all comments :)

The paper is by Kaiser Craft
Hannah Lynn Digital Image from Crafts and Me
She is coloured using Copics and Gelly Rolls but sadly i forgot to note the colours i used.

Please let me know any thoughts and suggestions. My crafting has improved immensely due to the amazing people i have met along the way and have helped :)
