Male Card

Hi All,

I dont know about you but i always struggle with Male cards, i have had this Kenny K image for quite some time now and this is the first time i have used it. I have tried to keep the card itself fairly simple as the image really is such fun and being a male card i didnt want to overload it with embellishments.

Image: Kenny K
Papers: These are a British set i think i purchased from Do Crafts stockists ( i have had it for some time and not gotten around to using it)
Colouring: Copics
Gems & Card stock from stash

Alternative Valentines Card - Kenny K

Hi everyone,

well you know how i am at being alternative when it comes to my cards and i do like making bright and funky ones. With this in mind a couple of the challenges which i wanted to enter all relate to love etc because of Valentines day, well i figured i would step completely away from tradition and really hope you like my final card.

I used a Kenny K image and coloured her with my Copics. I have to admit i initially coloured her when the power was off a few weekends ago and wasn't really sure what to use her for. I cut her out and left her on my craft table until inspiration hit me LOL

I loved the bright colours and thought they would make a great alternative to the normal reds and pinks, so i cut three panels in the same colour scheme used and embossed them so they had music notes on them. I love the look it gave. I wanted a little bit more texture so i used some black embossed paper i had to give it a bit more edge. I then adhered to my card, after much playing around to get the layout right. I tend to cut out all my different panels together and play around till i am happy as i have a tendency to change my mind.

I added black ribbon and bow (well ribbon i had, coloured with my Copic) and adhered these in the corner of the card and added heart gems in each of the corner. When it came to the sentiment i had an idea of what i wanted to say so typed this out using Word and the many free fonts i have downloaded over time and played around with it until i was happy and then printed this straight onto yellow card stock, cut it out with my small circle Spellbinders Die and adhered to the card. I used dimensionals to add lift to my image as i wanted her to be the focal point and i am really happy with the results.

Hope you like it? here it is...

Kenny K digital image - New colours for me

Hi everyone,

well i resisted the urge to do another Hannah Lynn card and this time chose Trouble by Kenny K, i am also a big fan of his images as i find them fun and funky. I am entering this one into the Cute Card Thursday challenge and this week's challenge is NEW, well this is definitely a new colour scheme for me as i have avoided colours like Lime Green in the past and i also wouldn't have dared to put lime green and pink together so this is definitely something NEW for me. I am trying to be a little more daring in my card making this year and trying to stray outside of my comfort zone as much as possible and so far i have been quite pleased with the result.

The patterned papers i got free in Australian Simply Cards magazine a while ago and have decided to be daring and use them.
The Image is Trouble by Kenny K and i love her, she is such fun
The image was coloured using my trusty Copics and next card i promise to make a note of the colours i use
The Card itself came from Kmart of all places and the pink pearlescent paper i used as backing i picked up at my local newsagent.

Well sadly its back to work after two weeks off over Christmas and New Year but i have to pay for my crafting supplies some how.

as always thanks for taking the time
