Inspired by Coops

Hi everyone,

This card i just wanted to share as i was inspired by friend Coops who makes the most AMAZING cards and i love how hers are so detailed and different. I love the way the layout highlights the image but also draws your eye to the centre image and she is so worth being drawn too.

Lilac and Lace Wedding card

Hi everyone,

There was another couple of challenges i wanted to take part in and they required me to use lace. Well lace is not something i normally use but when i thought about what time of card to make Wedding came to mind.

This being the case i purchased a gorgeous image from Sassy Studio Designs (one of four oops) and she is just gorgeous and would work perfectly. One of the challenges required you to use the colour Lavender and this soft purple just works so well i think. Plus i knew i had some perfect papers from Pink Petticoat and the rest kind of came together.

Because the image itself was so gorgeous i didn't want to do a lot too it. I coloured the flowers on her dress and bouquet with V17 and then i put some clear star Gelly roll on the flowers and the mid section of her dress and then added some tiny gems to the flowers on her dress and in her hair to give it a bit more WOW factor.

Dilema

Hi everyone from very muggy and sticky Queensland, think i would trade with one of you in the UK right now...ahhh snow!

Well i have had quite a productive few days card wise for my challenges but now have more cards than i can enter...oops. So i have had to make a decision which quite honestly is not one of my strong points. The first card i will show you today i chose because it is a little bit outside of my normal style and i really like the way it turned out, girly but not pink and frilly.

I decided i wanted to limit the amount of colour on my card so there is only a little but i think it draws your attention to the gorgeous image more.

I started this one of backwards to how i create my other cards, i coloured my image first and just picked the colours of Copics i liked and used them. I then decided to make the rest of the card the same colour. I took my standard white pearlescent card black. I cut a square 12cm x 12cm from the same card stock and embossed it. I then adhered this onto another piece of the same card stock and trimmed a border. I wanted to put some ribbon on and decided to go with the red i had in my stash and i adhered this to the smaller trimmed cards. I attached this to the base card using foam tape to give it a lift. I then cut my image out using Spellbinders dies, i cut one slightly larger using the original card stock and mounted both to the card. I made a red bow which i then adhered to the card using glossy accents. I also added some small red gems. Its hard to tell from the image but i did some highlights on the flowers and bees using my clear star Gelly roll to add a little sparkle and put some Glossy Accents on the bees to make them nice and glossy.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge entry

Hope you are all having a great week so far, not long until the weekend now.

The Challenge at Simon Says is for black and white with a splash of colour. I had a few ideas and must confess a couple did not go according to plan, i think i tried to force the ideas and that just doesn't work. Well amazingly i had the idea for this one on the bus coming home from work and i am actually really happy with the result.

I started off using a black pearlescent card blank (from Kmart) and then took a white pearlescent card blank (from Kmart) and cut to 12.5cm x 12.5cm and then embossed it using a cuttlebug folder i have and my beloved Bigshot. I then took some hot pink pearlescent paper (from my newsagent) which i mounted the embossed card panel onto, i trimmed a small border around so make it jump from the black card stock. I then cut out some mini butterflies using my Martha Stewart punch and arranged them on the embossed panel,  There are actually 2 black, 2 pink and 2 white but the white do not show up very well in the photo. I adhered them using Glossy Accents and added small clear Kaiser Craft Gems. Hope you like it!
