Alternative Valentines Card - Kenny K

Hi everyone,

well you know how i am at being alternative when it comes to my cards and i do like making bright and funky ones. With this in mind a couple of the challenges which i wanted to enter all relate to love etc because of Valentines day, well i figured i would step completely away from tradition and really hope you like my final card.

I used a Kenny K image and coloured her with my Copics. I have to admit i initially coloured her when the power was off a few weekends ago and wasn't really sure what to use her for. I cut her out and left her on my craft table until inspiration hit me LOL

I loved the bright colours and thought they would make a great alternative to the normal reds and pinks, so i cut three panels in the same colour scheme used and embossed them so they had music notes on them. I love the look it gave. I wanted a little bit more texture so i used some black embossed paper i had to give it a bit more edge. I then adhered to my card, after much playing around to get the layout right. I tend to cut out all my different panels together and play around till i am happy as i have a tendency to change my mind.

I added black ribbon and bow (well ribbon i had, coloured with my Copic) and adhered these in the corner of the card and added heart gems in each of the corner. When it came to the sentiment i had an idea of what i wanted to say so typed this out using Word and the many free fonts i have downloaded over time and played around with it until i was happy and then printed this straight onto yellow card stock, cut it out with my small circle Spellbinders Die and adhered to the card. I used dimensionals to add lift to my image as i wanted her to be the focal point and i am really happy with the results.

Hope you like it? here it is...

CAS LIM Male Valentines day card

Me again...

I really got into the Flourishes challenge this week and i ended up getting a little carried away and i totally loved it. I love entering in these challenges as it really helps me with ideas and you get so much inspiration from the fabulous entries by other very talented crafters.

I decided i wanted to make a valentines more masculine and i went with a silver and black theme and i am very pleased with it. It still has hearts but a more manly feel :)

I made a Matt black base using card from my stash and also cut out a black heart in the same card. I then used a shiny silver card stock which i embossed. I panicked a little at first as some of the silver coating flaked off a little which doesn't show up in the photo but when i calmed down i actually really like the effect, it gives it an almost weathered or aged look and now i love it. I also die cut another heart the same size as the other in the shiny silver card stock. I mounted the silver embossed panel on another black square panel just to help it pop out and i used dimensionals on the heart for added emphasis. Hope you like it.

Thank you for following my journey

CAS LIM Valentines card

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all having a great week so far.

I have another entry into the Flourishes challenge this week that i wanted to share with you all. I love cute cards but i don't seem to be able to get them quite right so this and my following entries are fairly simple but hopefully very effective.

This card was lovely to do and the shimmery card stock really highlights and makes the embossing really jump out at you.

The card stock i brought in a pack from Kmart, it is lovely and shimmery and makes the embossing look really sharp
The hearts were made using a die in my Big Shot, which coincidentally is one of my most prized possessions.
The embossing folder is by cuttlebug

I really hope you like my efforts and please feel free to leave a comment or two, i truly love hearing from you all.

I will be posting a couple of others shortly

Love - Flourishes Blog Challenge Entry

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a good Monday, back to work after two weeks was definitely a shock to the system but in some ways it is nice to be back but it cuts in to my crafting time...

My card below is for the Flourishes Blog Challenge and their theme is Love Letters and because i don't normally make Valentines cards i thought this would be a nice challenge.

The digital image is by Hannah Lynn from crafts and me
The Patterned paper and card have been in my stash for some time and sadly i cannot remember where i got them or who they are by.
The image was coloured using my trusty Copics and Gelly Rolls, i put some Glossy accents on the small hearts, her lips and the butterfly. Sadly you cannot really see from the photo but it gives the image some dimension and i really like the effect. This is only the second image i have coloured the hair black but i am loving it and it just makes the image so much more striking. I coloured the image back ground with C0 as i find it helps to make it pop. I added several gems.

Copics used C9, E50, C7, RV32, C0, V05, B21
