Hannah Lynn Centre Stepper Card

Hi All,

For my next experimentation i decided to give a centre step card a go. I viewed some templates online and then gave it a go generating my own, as you can imagine there were some failures LOL before i got to the dimensions i wanted.

Because i really love this image i wanted to keep the rest of the card fairly simple so she is the main focus and isn't she gorgeous. I may add a sentiment later, i am not sure at this stage but that's the joy of this image i think you could use it for any number.

For this card i used...
Janessa, Digital image by Hannah Lynn
Copics G05, R46, 0, E000, E00, B16, Y18, C1, C5, C7, C9
Gelly Rolls Silver star and Clear Star
Gems and card stock all from stash.

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges

The Paper Shelter DT Call - Nothing ventured Nothing gained

Hi everyone,

Hope you have all had a good weekend so far, hard to believe it is virtually over already.

The Paper Shelter are running a DT call until the 20th February. I love their digital images and have a few in my now becoming quite vast digital stamp collection and i figured why not, give it a go and see what happens.

I purchased this image recently (from The Paper Shelter) and i wasn't sure how much use i would get out of it. Well the answer to that is heaps, i love it and it is a joy to colour. I also wanted to try something different so i took a digital paper and overlaid the digital image on top and removed the non required white areas so that it left me only with the image to colour. I think it really makes the image pop and i love the effect it gives. I did this using the free software GIMP but i know you can do it using word or any photo editing software. I then coloured her in using my beloved Copics. I would expect it would depend on the printer you have but i was able to use my colourless blender to correct several mistakes without it having any affect on the printed digital paper, it didn't fade it or affect it in anyway.

All the papers used are digital ones i have in my collection but sadly i cannot remember where i obtained these now as i got them when i first started crafting and this was before i started logging everything.

For this card i used...
Little Red Riding Hood Digital Image by The Paper Shelter
Digital papers from my stash
Flowers are by Kaisercraft
Gems and ribbon are from my stash
Cardstock from stash
Spellbinders Die
Marianne Leaf Dies
Martha Stewart Border Punch
Sakura Black Aqualip
Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll

Copics
Hair  E21, E25, E29
Basket   E47, E49
Cape, Shoes and Bows R29
Face   E000, E00, G05, R11
Dress and Socks C3, C5

As always thanks for visiting and hope you have fun crafting

My attempt at Vintage...sadly we go together like oil and water

This is my final post of the evening...this was for the crafts and Me challenge which is Vintage. Whilst i love other peoples vintage cards the thought of making my own really feels me with apprehension. It just seems to be the one style i just cannot get my head around. Whilst my card below is probably my best attempt so far i must confess i am still not happy with it. i look at it and feel like it isn't really sure what style it is. But hey i thought i would give it ago so here is my card.

For this card i used...

So Stylish digi from The Paper Shelter
Chipboard which i coloured with Copics from my stash
Papers, sentiment and flowers from Kmart
Copics E11, E17, E71, R81, E13, R11, E00
Gelly roll in Clear Sparkle

I would like to enter this in the following challenge.

Any feedback on how to improve my "Vintage" would be greatly appreciated!

Please let me know what you think, i really enjoy getting your comments and am happy with any suggestions or advice you have to offer.

Help Needed!

Hi everyone,

well i really think i need to stay away from the Crafts and Me website...i will just have a look i thought...three new digital stamps later ha ha. The one i have used on my card below is Butterflies of Hope by Hannah Lynn and i just adore her. I really couldn't wait to print her out and colour.

I need your advice though...i seem to be getting worse at my hair colouring and not better...it maybe that i am over blending or not flicking enough but i really don't know and if any of you wonderful people have any advice i would really love to hear it. I think maybe i am over thinking the whole thing or maybe laying down too much ink to start i just don't know....

I wanted to keep this one mainly pretty simple but with a real "pop" of colour and i really like the end result.

I used...
Hannah Lynn Digital Image
Papers & Card Stock from my rapidly depleting stash
Flowers and Gems were from my Stash
Gelly Roll Clear Star
Copics YG09, B05, RV06, Y08, E50, C9, C7, C5, V17, R46

Life is a circus

Hi everyone,

On a random note before i get on to this evenings card, is anyone having an issue with Blogger, i have some badges that i want to add to my blog but when i select add gadget and then try to add my own (which i am pretty sure is how i did it last time) it comes up with an error message. I have tried their suggestion and tried it on several computers but each time i get the same error message, SUPER frustrated so if you have any suggestions i would really appreciate them.

OK on to tonight's card, i am going through a phase with my new digi stamps from The Paper Shelter at the moment and i wanted a bright colour scheme. I had some of the free papers left over from my other card so when with pink and green. For someone who isn't a huge fan of pink i sure seem to be using a lot lately ha ha.

Isn't she a gorgeous image, she was a lot of fun to colour and i think she would suit a number of different colour schemes. But i must confess i keep looking at this card and thinking it needs something else but i just can't quite put my finger on it. The font for the sentiment i downloaded from Fontspace.com and i generated on my computer. I love that you can get so many amazing fonts online and i like being able to create my own sentiments in the size and style i want.

I used...
Black Card Blank from Kmart
papers are free from Australian Simply Cards
Image is from the Paper Shelter
Single Gems are by Kaiser Craft
I used spellbinders dies
Copics
Sakura Gelly Roll, Aqualip, Metallic and Glaze pens

My other chosen card

Me again.

This is the other card i have chosen to submit to my challenges. I just love the combination of red and black and i have had this digi in my collection for a little bit as i fell in love with it the minute i saw it but just haven't gotten around to using it.

I wanted to keep this one fairly simple too as she is such a gorgeous image i wanted her to be the focal point. I took a black pearlescent card blank for my base. I then cut a strip of red pearlscent paper and used a Martha Stewart bored punch. I cut another strip from the same black card stock and embossed it to give it a little additional details. I mounted the black onto the red and then mounted these straight to the card base. I coloured my image with my trusty Copics but wanted this to have a little more blink/shimmer so i added some clear star gelly roll to the rose in her hair to give it a little sparkle, i used black aqualip on her shoes so they look like they are patent. I coloured the lamp post using black metallic gelly roll and the light bulb using yellow glaze. I then coloured around the image in really light grey to make it pop out at you a little more. I then mounted the image on black card stock leaving a thin border and then mounted this on red paper leaving another narrow border and then finally again onto black card stock with another narrow border and then adhered it to the card at a slight angle. I then added clear and red gems to complete the card.

I used...
Digital Image from The Paper Shelter
Card Stock Kmart
Pearlescent Paper from local newsagent
Couture Creations embossing folder
Martha Stewart Border punch
Red gems from stash
clear gems Kaiser Craft
Copics R37, E50, C0, C7, C9
Sakura Gelly Rolls Clear Star, Black Metallic
Sakura Yellow Glaze
Sakura Black Aqualip

Dilema

Hi everyone from very muggy and sticky Queensland, think i would trade with one of you in the UK right now...ahhh snow!

Well i have had quite a productive few days card wise for my challenges but now have more cards than i can enter...oops. So i have had to make a decision which quite honestly is not one of my strong points. The first card i will show you today i chose because it is a little bit outside of my normal style and i really like the way it turned out, girly but not pink and frilly.

I decided i wanted to limit the amount of colour on my card so there is only a little but i think it draws your attention to the gorgeous image more.

I started this one of backwards to how i create my other cards, i coloured my image first and just picked the colours of Copics i liked and used them. I then decided to make the rest of the card the same colour. I took my standard white pearlescent card black. I cut a square 12cm x 12cm from the same card stock and embossed it. I then adhered this onto another piece of the same card stock and trimmed a border. I wanted to put some ribbon on and decided to go with the red i had in my stash and i adhered this to the smaller trimmed cards. I attached this to the base card using foam tape to give it a lift. I then cut my image out using Spellbinders dies, i cut one slightly larger using the original card stock and mounted both to the card. I made a red bow which i then adhered to the card using glossy accents. I also added some small red gems. Its hard to tell from the image but i did some highlights on the flowers and bees using my clear star Gelly roll to add a little sparkle and put some Glossy Accents on the bees to make them nice and glossy.

I used...
Pearlescent White Card stock from Kmart
Cuttlebug embossing folder
Spellbinders Dies
Digital Image from Cuddly Buddy
Ribbon - Stash
Gems - Stash
Copics V05, RV04, V17, YG09, YG17, G05, C2, Y13, E37, E41, R81, B16, YG05 AND R37
Glossy Accents
Clear Star Gelly Roll

Using old backing papers

Well i am entering a couple of card making blog challenges with this card and the theme for Simon Says Stamp was something "Old" well i have had the backing papers i used in my stash since i started getting interested in card making a few years ago and just never seemed to use them. I am also entering The Sketchy Challenges blog and i loved their sketch thought it would be fun to combine the two.

I took a 15cm x 15cm card blank in pearlescent white as my base. I then cut a square in black card measuring 13cm x 13cm which i adhered to the card using foam tape. I then cut three pieces of my old backing papers in 8cm x 8cm, 11.5cm x 6.5cm and 5.5cm x 5.5cm. I arranged these on the card to match the sketch and adhered them with double sided tape. I downloaded the zebra digital image and printed on Copic card. I coloured the zebra a light grey just to make him pop a little more and coloured the background roughly as i wanted to have a little texture rather than be flat. I cut out the image and scalloped black circles using dies. I then attached them to the card using double sided foam square so he really pops out at you. it wouldn't be one of my cards without a few gems. Hope you like my finished card

I used...
White Pearlescent card blank from Kmart
Black Card stock and the backing papers are all from my stash
The digital image is from Cuddly Buddly
Copics E31 and C1
Black gems are Kaisercraft

Another Beat The Blues Entry for Cute Card Thursday Challenge

Well i seem to be all or nothing when it comes to ideas for my card making, i can go weeks where i get utterly frustrated because i cannot even get an idea of where to start and other times the ideas just keep coming and i can barely keep up with them. I originally coloured two images for my previous card because i was not entirely sure which one i wanted to use so ended up with two coloured images. I chose the LOTV image for the previous card and this Hannah Lynn image was far to gorgeous to remain stored in my stash so off i went and created another card.

The card base is one i had in my stash and measures 15cm x 15cm. I cut silver pearlescent paper to 14cm x 14cm and mounted onto the card blank using double sided sticky tape. The 4 patterned paper strips are all 3cm x 11cm (they were actually what i had left over after making the previous card) and mounted them on card the same as the card blank. I then trimmed a fairly obvious border around each but did not measure this. I then aligned them how i wanted them to sit, i find this helps me to do because i have a tendency to change my layout so many times before my final card. I then adhered them using double sided tape. I then added the black ribbon. Once i had coloured the image i had already mounted on silver pearlescent paper and mounted again on black card stock, all using double sided tape. I adhered the image to the card from using foam tape so it is a little raised from the background. I made the bow and adhered this to the card using Glossy Accents and finally added the blue gems. I have a tendency to be extremely critical of my own efforts but must confess i am pretty happy with the way this turned out.

I used...
Hannah Lynn Digital Image
Black Pearlescent card blank originally purchased from Kmart
Patterned papers are all by Doodlebug Designs
Black Ribbon was from my stash
Blue Gems from Kaiser Craft
Copics B23, R81, E50, C7, C9, G05
Sakura Gelly Roll Clear Star
Glossy Accents and Double sided tape from my stash

Another Crafts and me blog challenge entry

Hi all,

I know no post for a while and then several in one day.

Another Hannah Lynn digital image :) i just looooovvvveee them. I love the fact that you can colour them so many different ways and to fit your project. This is a winter card and the sentiment is still to be added, you know what i am like for not putting on sentiments until i use them. I tried a more non traditional colour scheme of pink and grey and i am really really please with the way it turned out, it is quite delicate and i am really happy with the final card.

I coloured her using copics with some gelly rolls to add a little sparkle. You cannot tell from the photo but i put Glossy Accents on the butterfly and her lips to give it added dimension.

The papers are from my far to large stash.

Thanks for taking the time
