CC Designs Challenge Card

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone's weekend is going well so far? I was watching the opening ceremony for the Olympic Games and definitely at times like this i really do miss London.

Well i did a Christmas themed challenge card today and it came out really well, it was one of those cards that just came together all by itself. Really pleased with her hair on this one but think i may have made it a smidgen too dark but its works well.

I used white base card and then cut out the white and green spotted paper and mounted this on red paper, i then cut the white and green striped paper and mounted that on red. I printed out my image yesterday before i knew what i was going to use her for and was a little concerned she would be too big but i found tilting the image on it's side after i had mounted in on green card stock, worked really well and anyone would think i have done it on purpose LOL

I put on some crimson ribbon and then made the two little bows out of the same ribbon, some pearls in the corner finished it off. I haven't added a sentiment as i generally chose those once i know who i am sending the card too.

Here she is

For this card i used the following
white card stock, red ribbon, green patterned papers from my stash
Paper xtra pearls
White Gel pen
Copics
HAIR E25, E27, E27
FACE E50, E51
JACKET R59
BOOTS C9, C7
COLOURLESS BLENDER 0
OUTLINED IMAGE WITH C1 to make it pop out a bit more

Crafts & Me challenge 94 entry - Anything goes, well it had to be another Hannah Lynn

Hi Everyone,

Yes it would seem i have become quite obsessed with my Hannah Lynn digi stamps, i promise you to leave them alone from now on and use some of my many many other images. If you are practicing with your Copics or promarkers if you use those they are so great because of all that lovely hair and i really do find hair the hardest to colour.

Not to blow my own trumpet but i am really rather proud of this one, i am very happy with the way i have coloured the hair and it actually feels like it is sinking in just have to practice on the blending, i know it is just one of those things you have to work at.

This card really started as i am giving up smoking and this is my first evening, the day went OK but i was feeling at a bit of a loss and needed to keep my hands busy and card making really is perfect for that :)

I wanted to make something bright and funky and wanted to step away from the blues i seem to have been using so much lately. I have decided to enter her in the anything goes challenge 94 at crafts & me.

Well here she is, let me know your thoughts or any suggestions. I truly do love hearing from you all and i really appreciate the support.

Black card is from my stash
Paper Xtra Gems
The paper and corrugated card is also from my stash

Colouring hair practice (another excuse to colour another Hannah Lynn)

Hi Everyone,

Thankfully that's the end of an extremely long week sigh....the weekend is here so things are definitely looking up!

Well i am not entering this card into any challenges, it was mainly just to get some practice colouring hair and the card kind of happened. I am experimenting with different colour combinations for hair at the moment and my apologies but you will find they are all differing shades of brown, not very adventurous am i?

Let me know your thoughts

Card from stock
Paper xtra gems
White ribbon, which i coloured in with Copic B23 and made the bow

Hannah Lynn Image, i expect you will see a lot more of her, she is gorgeous and really is a joy to colour, even if you have absolutely no patience like me LOL

Hannah Lynn Digital stamp

Good afternoon all,

Well i had my first Copics lesson yesterday at my local craft store and it was heaps of fun. I definitely needed the help :) I can blend a little better now but need to practise quite a bit. We did a section on  hair which is great because its an area that i really do struggle.

With this in mind i wanted an image that would let me play around with colouring in hair and got the inspiration from Coops who is on the DT for Crafts & Me. The Hannah Lynn images are stunning with lots of gorgeous hair to practise. I have chosen the one below to coincide with a couple of the challenges i am taking part in.

I coloured her using my trusty copics with some Gelly Roll, Aqualip and white Gel pen for good measure. I think i picked my brown (earth) colours a little too close together and found it hard to get the highlighted effect i wanted so i ended up colouring the strands alternating colours and whilst it was not the effect i was going for i really like it. I think i may print one of the images in a larger size to practise as that might help.

I am entering the following challenges

Well here's my finished article

isn't the image stunning, something tells me these will be showing up in a lot of my future cards

Less is more (LIM) challenge entry

Good evening all,

This is the card i am submitting to the Less Is More challenge. For those of you that know me from Do Crafts will know the i already adore LIM cards. I must confess i did find this one a little tricky as i tend to make my cards as i go along rather than having a plan first, which has both its good and bad points, like a whole collection of failed cards oops. But i gave it my best shot. The challenge was based on their logo which i have copied in below first.

Here is my finished card

My apologies for the less than fantastic photographs

For this card is used the following;
White card stock
Black and White Musical Digital paper
Pink and Brown paper
Sentiment is from Pixie Gypsy (Create special memories every day)
White Ribbon Roses
Spellbinders scalloped oval die
Martha Stewart Butterfly punch

Thanks for taking the time to read and view my blog :)
